The Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation is proud to announce the sponsorship of a 4-day rowing clinic, Destinazione Italia, in Tuscany, Italy at the Terralba Rowing Camp. The addition of this clinic to the GLRF HitTheWater!2005 campaign expands global gay and lesbian rowing clinics to 5 countries: Australia, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2005 -- The Gay + Lesbian Rowing Federation (GLRF) is proud to announce the sponsorship of a 4-day rowing clinic in Tuscany, Italy. The addition of this clinic, Destinazione Italia, to the GLRF 2005 global training campaign, HitTheWater!2005, expands global gay and lesbian rowing clinics to 5 countries: Australia, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Destinazione Italia provides the opportunity for European rowers to enjoy the community and camaraderie of a gay and lesbian friendly rowing clinic in the heart of Tuscany, at the Terralba Rowing Camp. Preferred pricing is offered to GLRF members.

The purpose of the HitTheWater!2005 campaign is to assist crews and rowers with the intense training regimens necessary to prepare for the 2006 Montreal World Outgames and the 2006 Chicago Gay Games. The global campaign seeks to develop sweep and scull training camps in North America, Europe and Australia. The continued development of gay and lesbian focused or friendly clinics in the worldwide rowing community underscores the growing recognition and awareness of gay and lesbian rowers worldwide.

The Terralba Rowing Camp is located in San Miniato near Florence. The four-day clinic, offered 22 – 26 Sep 2005, will focus on individualized sculling instruction at a picture perfect lake basin adjacent to the Arno River. Italys nationally known masters coach, Enzo Ademollo, will instruct clinic participants. Sig. Ademollo serves on the Italian National Rowing Council and is the national coordinator of masters rowers in Italy. Rowers will have twice daily sculling sessions, off the water instruction, and will eat very well (naturalmente!). The clinic package includes meals and lodging, and is open to all rowers, gay and straight.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, GLRF is a web-based global membership organization dedicated to promoting rowing in the gay and lesbian community and fostering an international community of gay and lesbian rowers, coaches, coxswains, and judges at all levels of the sport, including junior, collegiate, veteran/masters, and elite. The organization provides resources and information to rowers and serves as a liaison both within the community and with the larger international rowing world.
