(PRWEB) May 18, 2005 -- Hunt and Hunt Ltd. has recently brought two more custom G3" tubular laser machining centers on line and is in the process of building 2 more. These machines incorporate the latest laser machining technologies, designed for precision, high performance, rapid profile cutting of complex geometries, fast rotary indexing and heavy duty service.
These new laser machining centers are designed for volume laser machining of tubular stock with up to a 30ft x 6.25in diameter work piece capacity.
Proven advantages built into the Hunt and Hunt G3 custom laser machining systems:
• Easy Setup - CNC Controlled – True 3D Art-to-Part" capabilities enable the fastest turnaround time in the industry for emergency laser cutting needs.
• Faster Cutting Speeds – enhanced by automatic work-piece profiling (automatic laser beam focal distance compensation)
• Profiles cut without tooling change-out or wear
• Laser vaporizes metal being cut without burrs, eliminating secondary processes
• No tool contact - No induced stress, ideal for thin walled tubing
• Close tolerances held with excellent repeatability
• Good material versatility
• Laser machining and surface marking can be achieved in the same setup and operation
• Good potential for manufacturing cost reduction over conventional machining methods
Many Industries demand machining methods capable of profiling complex geometries in tubular products without deformation, cold working or secondary processing.
Down-hole tools used in the Oil and Gas Industry have thin walled tubular housings and components that are ideal laser machining candidates. Perforating gun charge carriers for example, have thin walls that could be easily distorted by tool pressure using conventional machining methods.
Meeting customers exacting needs requires that we continually reinforce our in-house" specialty machine development and design capabilities. High volume manufacturing of tubular products are required in the Oil and Gas Industry, the Food and Beverage Industry, the Architectural Industry, for aircraft and many other industries. Our laser machining services enable us to meet our clients production needs with precision on a timely basis
We remain focused on Cutting into the Future" and supplying our customers with quality through state-of-the-art equipment and well trained employees. We maintain an aggressive Research and Development program. Our steadfast dedication to advancement in machining methods and total customer service helps us and our customers maintain an unparalleled competitive edge.
We also have flatbed laser machining capabilities with a TRUMPF TRUMATIC L 4030. The L 4030 has a great mix of speed (up to 3,340 inches/min), versatility and precision, comes equipped with rapid changeover and setup features, and is compatible with advanced automation.
Operating on the principle of "flying optics", the cutting head moves over the stationary work-piece. The non-contact automatic height sensing system working in conjunction with the automatic laser beam focusing system virtually guarantee optimal results in any material type or thickness.
Size is not an issue with this working range (x:y:z), 162 inch x 83 inch x .875 inch..
Hunt & Hunt Ltd. has in-house design capability for assisting our customers with their laser cutting needs.
