Downtempo Artist Glideascope Announces Deal with Jet Star Music

New music artist's debut album, "Audio Cinematography," will be available summer 2005.

London, UK (PRWEB) May 17, 2005 -- Akara Music and downtempo musician Glideascope announce the sealing of a distribution and publishing deal with Jet Star Music. Featuring 18 new music tracks, Glideascope's debut album entitled "Audio Cinematography" is set for release summer 2005.

The upcoming album "Audio Cinematography," recorded over the last two years, culminates in emotive electronica, live orchestral strings, world music landscapes and downtempo beats whilst plunging into the depth-charged dub reggae of old.

As an artist who appreciates how difficult it is to get your 'voice' heard within the music industry, any opportunity to raise the profile of unsigned and independent artists is welcome.
Glideascope revealed, "I wanted to create an album that was representative of my musical heritage and extensive travels across the globe – an experimental journey fusing classical orchestration, reggae, the roots of hip hop, African and Indian folk music with a composite of acoustic and electronic elements."

November 2003 witnessed Glideascope's debut chill out release, a five-track EP entitled "With Strings Attached." The EP was licensed by MTV for their U.S.-based documentary "MADE;" the EP's corresponding success sealed the distribution and publishing deal with Jet Star Music. For a limited time, the five-track EP "With Strings Attached" will be available for free download at http://www.glideascope.com/free.html.

"Audio Cinematography" demonstrates a free flowing mix of beats that are generously blended with a flavour of cinematic melodies and eclectic choices influencing his emotionally driven soundscapes. The album's title suggests an audio-visual aspect to his music, giving "Audio Cinematography" its unique sense of purpose.

"I wanted to do something that was very cinematic," Glideascope explained. "I think in terms of moving images when I'm composing - creating a canvas that people can fill with their own pictures and emotions. Taking listeners on an interactive journey that will break the 'fourth wall.'"

Album track "Big Big Disgrace" was previewed on the 2005 Miami WMC (Winter Music Conference) official compilation CD, earning a Top 5 ranking – with the WMC stating, "We really dig this." The track was also described by leading Internet music journalist Arjan Timmermans, (ArjanWrites.com) as "Mozart meeting Shabba Ranks meeting Groove Armada."

In recognition of his independent status, Glideascope, in conjunction with the NCIAA (National Club Industry Association of America) and several other sponsors, recently launched the "Big Big Disgrace" remix competition, granting the winner the opportunity to feature on the commercial release.

Glideascope admitted, "As an artist who appreciates how difficult it is to get your 'voice' heard within the music industry, any opportunity to raise the profile of unsigned and independent artists is welcome."

With listeners looking to classify new music by genre, his release will be difficult to pigeon-hole, with inspirations from trip hop, downtempo, classical and reggae. However to Glideascope, "It is simply music that breaks down the barriers. With the world becoming smaller, isnt it natural to be influenced by everything you hear?"
