Poweredcom Japan Offers Ground-Breaking Disaster Recovery Services Powered by DataCore

A breakthrough in data protection, cost, and services to safeguard business data

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 18, 2005 -- DataCore Software today announced that Poweredcom, a major Japanese telecommunications company and part of the Tokyo Electric Power Company group, deployed a combination of DataCores SANsymphonyTM and SANmelodyTM software as the main engine for their new total disaster recovery system business. The DataCore software and service offering is being provided under the name Powered IT Solution Anshin Pack.” Poweredcom has built a comprehensive set of capabilities and services to help businesses deal with infrastructure and data preservation services, emergency preparedness and cyber terrorism.

Poweredcom announced that as of May 2005 they will make these new advanced data protection and disaster recovery services available to their large base of business clients. DataCore SANsymphony storage management software has been installed at Poweredcoms data center to provide high performance, highly available, virtualized storage volumes, while SANmelody storage servers will be installed at each of their customers sites onto which user business applications will be backed up locally. Using Poweredcoms telecommunication network, customers data will then be replicated and remotely protected by using DataCores AIM software connected to Poweredcoms state-of-the-art data center.

Poweredcom offers an all-in-one” total solution covering system management, operation and maintenance. DataCore provides the storage management and data protection software including storage virtualization and remote replication for data transfer. Together, Poweredcom and DataCore offer the needed professional services to help architect and implement storage system infrastructures to meet individual client needs.

A Poweredcom Solution Group Senior Product Manager states DataCores solution is affordable and innovative. It functions independently of the underlying hardware and it offers all the high-end features necessary to manage and protect disk storage. The combination of ‘auto-grow storage capacity, which allows customers use as much storage as they need, ‘reliable security, which enables users to confidently pool and safely share storage to multiple users, and a range of proven datacenter and communication products and services, have together enabled Poweredcom to succeed in providing a new, all-in-one type of service, which was not previously available. We can also now address a wide-range of customers within the Tokyo Electric Power group family and many small-to-midsize businesses that previously could not afford these high-end capabilities. Poweredcom can now meet these SMBs budget requirements without sacrificing functionality.”

DataCore Asia Pacific Managing Director Peter Thompson adds, We believe Poweredcom has hit the sweet spot in Japans SMB segment that requires disaster recovery and emergency preparedness. We at DataCore are thrilled to be at the heart of this groundbreaking service.”
