Kozio, Inc., a leading provider of embedded software for system-level hardware testing, today announced plans for support of Freescale's PowerQUICC III processor architecture. Kozio is currently working with Silicon Turnkey Express (STx) to support and create a software evaluation kit for STx's GP3 reference board and will continue to add support for additional reference boards from STx and other manufacturers. Kozio develops turnkey software solutions that verify design and validate hardware for any embedded single-board computer systems for a variety of applications, including networking and communications technology.

Longmont, CO (PRWEB) May 23, 2005 -- Kozio, Inc., a leading provider of embedded software for system-level hardware testing, today announced plans for support of Freescale's PowerQUICC III processor architecture.

"We are seeing strong demand for our products to support the latest Freescale processor technology, in the U.S., Europe and elsewhere," notes Kozio President Joseph Skazinski. "We're excited to round out our support of the leading network processors and our ability to quickly provide custom solutions to our customers that use these processors."

Kozio delivers a complete diagnostics and functional test solution for hardware board bring-up, manufacturing test and production-ready power-on self-test through its products: kDiagnostics for system-level diagnostics of embedded designs; kMfgTest for automated embedded manufacturing and functional test; and kPOST for off-the-shelf Power-On Self-Test (POST). These solutions from Kozio provide more complete testing throughout the development process, resulting in fewer spins in the prototype stages and fewer defects in the final product. Boards move from design through prototyping and manufacturing to release in less time, with less cost and fewer defects.

Freescale's versatile PowerQUICC delivers functionality tailored to the needs of the embedded communications market space, particularly for broadband access and customer premise equipment applications. Delivering support for protocols including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, ATM, HDLC, USB and PCMCIA, PowerQUICC processors are well-suited for applications including SOHO routers, remote access routers, DSLAMs, access concentrators, LAN/WAN switches, central office switching, integrated access devices, residential gateways, DSL modems, cable modems, and Voice over IP (VoIP) systems.

STx's GP3 ODM Reference Board for Freescale PowerQUICC(tm) III features premium blade/sbc supporting the Freescale MPC8560 and MPC8555 and MPC8541 processors, along with interfaces for Rapid IO, fiber optic gigabit ethernet modules, PCI-104, and up to 4 gigabytes of RAM. The GP3 is a powerful single-board computer/router designed as both a stand-alone product, as well as a reference board and for custom integration purposes.

Kozio's latest software release includes new, enhanced, and extended support for a variety of technologies across all its products. In the past quarter Kozio has added drivers and test suites for NAND Flash devices, enhanced USB support (handling multiple USB devices per platform), PCI bridge support, LCD support, expanded Altera FPGA support and enhanced Compact Flash support. These new features expand on the already extensive Kozio Test Library, enhancing the company's leadership role in providing the most comprehensive hardware test software for board bring-up, manufacturing test and power-on self-test (POST).
