(PRWEB) May 28, 2005 -- ITV's latest reality TV show, Celebrity Love Island, is certainly getting people talking, as 12 sexy celebrities vie for viewers' votes and the top prize of 100,000.

But the show would be nothing without its stunning location, and the paradise in question is Bounty Island, off the coast of mainland Fiji.

David Brice, director of Global Holidays (www.globalholidays.co.uk) in Leeds gives us more details of this stunning location. He says:

"The former British colony is made up of more than 300 islands, and has a remarkable blend of different cultures, from Polynesian to Indian, Melanesian to Chinese. As recently as 1987, the year of a military coup, indigenous Fijians were an ethnic minority.

Fiji possesses a wonderful climate all year round, and has proven to be a popular destination for those seeking to escape a miserable UK winter or spend their summer holidays there. Probably the best time to visit is between the months of May and October, when rainfall and humidity are lower.

The main two islands are Vanau Levu and Viti Levu, with the capital Suva situated on the south-east coast of the latter. Suva is the political heart of Fiji and has the main port, and is also the most developed of Fiji's urban areas. There can be found many interesting post-colonial buildings and also the Fiji Museum.

On the west coast is Nadi, the tourism centre of Fiji and the third biggest town. It is the ideal place to organize further travel to the islands or to book activities around Fiji, such as golf, horse riding and diving.

It can also offer plenty of cheap accommodation, or for those wishing to treat themselves, a stay in The Sheraton is recommended. This luxurious hotel serves superb seafood, and it is possible to have a romantic table set out on the beach under the moonlight.

Another interesting attraction is the Beach House, a collection of beach huts set amongst gardens by the beach, halfway between Suva and Nadi. It is a delightful place that serves scones and tea in the afternoon, and has plenty of activities to keep you occupied such as making coconut jewelry and basket weaving.

For those who are looking to really let their hair down, then Beachcomber Island is probably one of the best places you can go to, a tiny island, which you can walk around in no more than 15 minutes.

It is popular amongst backpackers, not least for the extraordinary 200-person open-air dormitory, which is a truly unique sight. There is also private accommodation for couples or families to benefit from the great atmosphere the island has to offer.

During the day, there are many water sports to enjoy, or you can take boat trips to other nearby islands. As the sun sets, you can enjoy a game of beach volleyball or touch rugby with some of the locals. And at night, the covered bar on the beach serves chilled Fiji Bitter and tasty cocktails, and the band will make sure that everyone is up on their feet dancing the night away.

Another popular island to visit is Mana Island, which combines budget accommodation with an exclusive five star resort nearby. Perhaps Mana's finest attribute is Sunset beach, which, as its name would suggest, provides the sight of simply sensational sunsets. It is also possible to go on fishing trips, but beware the numerous sharks!

Naviti is another island worth exploring, with fantastic beaches and stunning scenery consisting of imposing green mountains. South sea is a far smaller, more remote island, which will feel like a personal paradise, as you lounge around in hammocks and eat barbeques all day long.

And then, of course, there is Bounty Island. A fun-filled island, offering excellent diving and snorkeling, where you can sample delicious local cuisine and partake in the ritual that is Kava drinking. Kava is a traditional herbal drink that plays a key role in Fijian society, where it is drank in ceremonies to honour visitors and unite participants.

Fiji is truly a wonderful place to relax, and learn about the warmth and friendliness of another culture, while still having fun in the sun. And if you see Abi Titmuss, Calum Best or Rebecca Loos on your travels, just remember there was life in Fiji before the Celebrity Love Island bandwagon rolled into town".
