Drew S. Levin's TMC Entertainment Continues Faith-Based Programming Initiative with Return to Holy Land to Shoot Additional Footage for PBS Epic Television Production

"Walking the Bible" is a three-hour PBS miniseries based on the New York Times' bestseller.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 27, 2005 -- Emmy Award-winning producer Drew S. Levin's TMC Entertainment announced today that as part of it's faith-based programming initiative, the Emmy Award winning production crew will return to Jerusalem and the Holy Land on June 8th to shoot additional footage on the forthcoming PBS miniseries "Walking the Bible" based on the New York Times' bestselling book by acclaimed author Bruce Feiler. "Walking the Bible" will be broadcast on PBS as a major primetime event slated for early 2006. San Francisco PBS affiliate KQED Public Television, has signed an agreement with TMC to be the presenting station.

Filmed on-location in Israel, Jordan, Egypt, the Sinai, and Mt. Ararat, among other locations in the Holy Land in high definition digital video, "Walking the Bible" is one part adventure story, one part archeological detective work, and one part spiritual exploration which describes author and host Bruce Feiler's 10,000-mile inspiring odyssey by foot, Jeep, rowboat, and camel through the greatest stories ever told. Viewers will travel to the forbidding and hostile environment of the Mesopotamian highlands, the Nile Delta, and the Sinai Desert to experience the travails of the patriarchs and the dangers of Exodus.

"We are very excited to venture back to the Holy Land to film additional scenes for 'Walking the Bible.' Already, we have captured some of the most dramatic and extraordinary footage ever taken in the Holy Land," said Drew S. Levin, Executive Producer.

"Walking the Bible" is executive produced by TMC Entertainment's Drew S. Levin and his long-time associate, Jim Coane. Levin and Coane each won an Emmy for their critically acclaimed PBS series, "Future Quest." Levin also assembled an impressive international production team which includes renowned British producer Rebecca Dobbs, best known for the BBC/PBS miniseries, "Conquistadors" and "In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great" and BAFTA award-winning director David Wallace ("In Search of Shakespeare"). Alex Gregory, a multiple Emmy Award winner ("The Living Eden" and "The Secret Life of 118 Green Street"), served as co-writer with Bruce Feiler on the miniseries.

In a natural progression from "Walking the Bible," TMC Entertainment has a full slate of major religious event programming in the pipeline as part of their faith-based programming initiative. For additional information on "Walking the Bible" please visit www.walkingthebibletv.com.
