Gregory Heller to Join CivicActions

Gregory Heller will join CivicActions, LLC this June after more than two years with the New York State Senate Democratic Conference as a technology and data systems specialist. In his time with the Senate and volunteering for the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC), Heller oversaw the relaunch of the Conferences and the Committees websites, email messaging systems and the Conference's contact relationship management systems. As part of the campaign team at the DSCC, Heller managed voter data for four candidates in the 2004 cycle and was among the first to deploy AdvoKit in the field.

“I have grown tremendously in these last two years with the Minority Leader's office and volunteering with the DSCC, learning from some of the best political minds in the state, if not the nation, and I look forward to taking my experiences and applying them to my work with CivicActions.” said Heller, who will remain in New York City after leaving the Minority Leader's staff.

Heller's role at CivicActions will include new business development, project management, and client relations. He is the first non-engineering member of the team on the East Coast and will focus his efforts on growing CivicActions' client base there.

Before joining the Senate, Heller worked for NY ACORN as a technology strategist, database developer and grant writer. He is an active participant in the CivicSpace and AdvoKit user communities and the larger nonprofit technology community. Over the last seven years, Heller has been involved in numerous political campaigns including John Edwards' bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2004 and Mark Green's run for New York City Mayor in 2001.
