Harris, Rothenberg International (HRI) Appointed to the New York Business Group on Healths Elder Care Task Force

Harris, Rothenberg International (HRI), LLC, a global performance management company, has been appointed to the New York Business Group on Healths Elder Care Task Force.

New York, NY (HRmarketer/PRWEB ) May 24, 2005 -- Harris, Rothenberg International (HRI), LLC, a global performance management company, has been appointed to the New York Business Group on Healths Elder Care Task Force.

The New York Business Group on Health (NYBGH), a nonprofit coalition of New York-based employers who work together to find solutions to various healthcare issues, formed the Elder Care Task Force with the purpose of bringing together business, labor, and government organizations to address the issue of providing support for elderly family members and others through workplace programs for employee caregivers. The task force includes experts in the fields of work/life consulting, elder law, corporate elder care services, and health education.

Harris, Rothenberg International, headquartered in New York, is an experienced global provider of elder care support services and brings insightful expertise to the elder care issues that companies face, both here and abroad,” says Laurel Pickering, Executive Director of the NYBGH. We are confident that HRIs vision and expertise will make a significant contribution to the work of the Elder Care Task Force in both encouraging workplace response to the needs of employee caregivers and guiding employers to appropriate activities and programs.”

With the aging of the American population, elder care needs are becoming a significant productivity issue for employers. Employees caring for aging and ill loved ones spend considerable time helping them receive appropriate diagnoses and healthcare, finding appropriate home-based services and products, monitoring the elders care, and responding to an elder's changing needs. Employees in the 45- to 65-year age bracket, who are the most likely to have elder care concerns and responsibilities, are also the fastest growing segment of the population. In addition, they are the most likely to hold management positions, so their elder care needs may have a particularly large impact on their employers.

We look forward to working with the New York Business Group on Health and other task force members to heighten the awareness of elder cares impact on the workplace and to support employers in their efforts to address these issues,” says Dr. Edward Trieber, managing director of HRI.

The NYBGH is sponsoring the upcoming event, EAPs in the 21st Century: Getting the Most Out of Your EAP Benefit in New York City on Thursday, June 2, 2005. Please visit www.NYBGH.org for more information. For more information on HRI, visit www.harrisrothenberg.com.
