Border Control is the No. 1 Political Issue in Arizona - Democrat Governor Projected to Lose 37% of Previous Voter Support in 2006 Election

More than 1-million illegal immigrants, most from Mexico seeking employment in the US, are funneled into Arizona each year. With federal mandates for education, health care, social programs and a seemingly out-of-control crime problem, it is not all that surprising that Arizonas voters have had their fill of picking up the financial and social tab. Voters may be ready to take out their frustrations in the voting booth in 2006.

Cave Creek, AZ (PRWEB) June 6, 2005 - NameQuest (www.namequest.com), a leading brand researcher for Fortune 500 companies worldwide, has released the results of the Arizona Governor Candidate Brand DNA" research.

John P. Hoeppner, president of NameQuest, noted, Although Democrat Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano is reported to have job approval ratings approaching 60%, more substantive research indicates a significant weakness as a 2006 gubernatorial candidate when paired against a more conservative Republican candidate."

Key Insights:

#1 Issue - Border Control:
In 2005-2006 the most important political issue will be border control. The most significant difference between the Republican and Democrat candidates was the issue of border control and support of the Minuteman Project. The Republican candidate prevailed on this issue by the widest margin of any issue in this study.

#2 Issue – Family Values:
Based on the results of this study family values is a key differentiating issue. Family Values include items that directly affect family life such as education, health care, personal income, etc. Arizona has traditionally rated low on family value issues in comparison to other states. Respondents perceive the Republican candidate as significantly stronger in delivering important family values.

# 3 Issue (TIE) - 2nd Amendment - NRA and Gay-Lesbian Advocacy:
9 out of 10 Arizonans support NRA backed 2nd Amendment rights – the Republican candidate is rated significantly higher. Democrat Governor Janet Napolitano is rated significantly higher in being perceived as a strong advocate for gays and lesbians.

Additional key findings in this study indicate that:

1. The Governors job approval ratings are one-dimensional, for the most part inaccurate and do not reflect the genuine feelings of registered Arizona voters.

2. Republican challengers have retreated needlessly.

3. The Governor has been unsuccessful in triangulating" Arizonas important issues.

4. The main-stream media seems to be reflecting the propaganda put forth by the Governors office and not the authentic views of the majority of Arizonans.

Complete results of this study are available to qualified news media reporters. To request a report contact John Hoeppner at NameQuest, Inc.
