As Was Publishes "The EverySeller's(TM) Guide to eBay: What Every Seller Should Know about eBay Strategy"

As Was, eBay's first Certified Service Provider, announces their new e-book to help new and veteran sellers develop and evolve their eBay selling strategies. Purchase of this e-book comes with a free half hour of phone consulting time with the authors so readers can have questions answered and discuss how the content relates to their specific businesses.

(PRWEB) June 7, 2005 -- As Was announces a first in eBay-related publishing. Purchasers of their new e-book, "The EverySeller's Guide to eBay: What Every Seller Should Know About eBay Strategy," will receive a free half hour of consulting time over the phone with either of the authors. The book covers the basics of eBay listing formats, upgrades, and fees, and uses that information as a foundation for a seller's strategy. The book also addresses how brand, identity, and marketing are part of every aspect of conducting successful business on eBay.

"We noticed that we had given some clients sales plans, which are in-depth assessments of the market for a client's items on eBay and strategic suggestions for their sales, but not everybody was taking our advice. We found out that aspects of eBay that we thought were basic were not known by many of our clients, including those who had been selling on eBay for months or years," remarked Debbie Levitt, President of As Was. "We started theorizing that many sellers were confident in their knowledge of eBay because they had been making sales even if the reality were that they knew very little and had not formalized a strategy. The idea of the book grew out of the need to supply a strong foundation of knowledge so that readers can develop their own strategies and understand how to evolve with the marketplace."

Once Debbie and As Was Vice President, David Shain, began writing the book, it became obvious that this book was not just for their clients. It was for every seller including eBay veterans and those looking to start selling on eBay. They asked their mailing list subscribers for input and feedback, and received confirmation on their theories on sellers' confidence in their knowledge. Overwhelmingly, survey respondents chose, "I know more than the average seller," but also chose "I am concerned that I don't know enough strategies," and "I wish there were easier ways for me to learn more about exactly what I need for my eBay business." Respondents wanted a non-technical book that would tell them how to make their listings stand out, how to attract more bidders, how to know if their business can be viable on eBay, and how to grow.

Debbie adds, "We often get phone calls from people who have read numerous eBay books and still don't know what to do. Some were confused by conflicting advice, and some were unsure of how to apply what they read to their own businesses. Some were believing everything they heard on an infomercial or at a seminar with a less-than-qualified presenter. We recognized the need to connect one-on-one with our readers to answer questions that arise from reading our book, where our book converges or diverges from other information they have gathered, and to nudge them in the right direction."

"The EverySeller's Guide to eBay: What Every Seller Should Know About eBay Strategy" is the first publication in As Was' new EverySeller's Guide series.
