Isn't a High School Reunion just seeing Old Friends Again? How is this One Different?

While celebrating a 50th Reunion, the Potosi, Missouri High School Class of 1955, Inc., also celebrates raising over ten thousand dollars for its old high school.

(PRWEB) June 10, 2005 -- Wouldn't everyone expect a 50th Class Reunion to be a joyous time of seeing old classmates, sharing life experiences, and showing pictures of children and grandchildren? Well, that will happen at this Reunion for the Potosi High School Class of 1955 for sure. Most importantly, and different than other reunions, the members will share and rejoice about what the class has done for the past three years to help their old alma mater, Potosi High School, as well. On July 15, 2005, at the YMCA of the Ozarks near Potosi, Missouri, the Class will hold its annual meeting as a not-for-profit and IRS charity organization. The meeting starts at 5 pm with a social hour following with a dinner and a program to celebrate their graduation fifty years ago and their accomplishments to help Potosi High School in the last few years. The evening will be a fun one filled with a social hour, a class made Power Point presentation, a modest business meeting, an unknown, humorous Master of Ceremonies, many guests and remarks from former teachers. Mystery attendance prizes will be given.

A list of accomplishments of this class prior to and after graduation required several full sheets of paper to explain and a scroll listing them will be at each place setting at the dinner. From winning Carnival Queen” all four years, to academic achievements and to raising approximately ten thousand dollars in the last few years were just some of its accomplishments. Helping the PHS Band to go to the Orange Bowl, buying a digital camera for the yearbook and spearheading a fund raising drive for new stage curtains recently proves the reputation of the Class of 1955 remains as one of Can Do”. The Class is appreciative of what all of its members have received from the school and community and just wished to give something back.

So many fund raising activities have occurred. Selling many kinds of shirts, raffling off a computer, many 50/50 raffles and a garage sale at Wal-Mart's lot were just a few of the activities. Lately, selling a very good cookbook with recipes from class members, their teachers and the Lucy Scott family with a Lucy's Wild Side” for wild game (Continues) is the latest fund raising activity.

The evening will conclude with time for visiting, listening to music, dancing and reviewing the Memory Book” prepared by the Class and given to each member attending. The book describes the lives of members since graduation.

Of course, as its guests on that evening, all news organization crews are invited to eat with the Class of 1955, Inc. The courtesy of RSVP is requested by July 1, 2005.
