Thomas R. Willard, PhD of carnivore nutrition, and wife Patricia A, are the owners of this privately held corporation. Founded in 1989 and incorporated in 1991 in N Carolina, Performance Foods, Inc., began with the goal of working within a ‘niche market for ferrets.

With over 30 years as a nutritionist, Dr. Willards research showed there was no hard data on ferrets and their dietary needs. His ultimate goal was to do extensive studies to determine their nutritional requirements and then to develop the best diet for them, encompassing their physiological and nutritional parameters.
