New - Visual Hindsight Adds CCTV DVR-Like Features

RFC Services, developers of award-winning video surveillance and recording software for network cameras and video servers, releases significant upgrades to Visual Hindsight Professional, Home, and Viewer Editions.

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) June 9, 2005 -- RFC Services is pleased to announce upgraded versions of Visual Hindsight Professional, Home, and Viewer Editions. Already at the forefront of IP video surveillance and recording desktop software, recent enhancements to the Visual Hindsight product line add increased value and functionality for those in the Security and Video Surveillance domain.

New - Professional Edition Version EW - 1.2.0.400
New with this release of Professional Edition is support for Hyper-Thread enabled and multi-CPU computer architecture. This support increases Visual Hindsights viewing and recording capability and speed by a significant margin, allowing for simultaneous viewing and recording of an even greater number of cameras and video servers.

Additionally, Professional Edition now supports CCTV DVR-like capability, specifically the ability to rotate two or more groups of cameras and video servers to the forefront of the screen according to a user-defined time interval.

Professional Edition Features at a Glance:
- Simultaneously view up to 100 cameras
- Simultaneously record up to 50 cameras
- Support for hyper-thread and multi-CPU computer architecture, for even better overall performance
- Automatically rotate (bring to the front of the screen) each active group of camera and video server windows, according to a user-defined time interval, as with professional CCTV DVR systems
- Manage disk space automatically using Retention Monitor (tm) technology
- Receive alert e-mail on connection and recording failure
- More than 60 camera and video server models supported

New - Home Edition Version 2.2.0.300
The newly released version of Home Edition also supports Hyper-Thread enabled and multi-CPU computers, fully exploiting advantages inherent in this increasingly popular computer architecture.

Cost of ownership remains at the forefront of RFC Services mandates for Home Edition; accordingly, the total number of cameras and video servers supported for viewing and capturing to disk has increased to 20 / 10 per installation, respectively, with unlimited storage of secondary cameras and video servers in a fully secure encrypted database.

Home Edition Features at a Glance:
- Simultaneously view up to 20 cameras
- Simultaneously record up to 10 cameras
- Support for hyper-thread and multi-CPU computer architecture, for even better overall performance
- Manage disk space automatically using Retention Monitor (tm) technology
- Receive alert e-mail on connection and recording failure
- More than 60 camera and video server models supported

New - Viewer Edition Version 2.2.0.300
With this newest release, Viewer Edition rises to the forefront as a solid, cost-effective solution for environments that require view-only access to cameras and video servers. Seamless compatibility with Professional and Home Editions allows for intuitive sharing of the Visual Hindsight multi-user database; Viewer Edition can now share a single data repository with Professional and Home Editions containing all camera and video server settings across the network.

Viewer Edition Features at a Glance:
- Simultaneously view up to 20 cameras
- Share a single data repository across the network containing all camera and video server settings with Professional and Home Edition
- Support for hyper-thread and multi-CPU computer architecture, for even better overall performance
- More than 60 camera and video server models supported

Visual Hindsight requires Windows NT, 2000, XP, or 2003 Server running on a PIII 450 MHz PC at a minimum video resolution of 800 x 600 x 16 bit, with a direct, network, or broadband connection to camera, video server, or Web server URL.
