Design Journal Award Presented to Globus Cork Flooring

Globus Cork wins the Award for Design Excellence. New Colored Cork Inlay Product launched with this prestigious award. Globus Cork is an American Manufacturer of Colored Cork Tiles.

(PRWEB) June 9, 2005 -- Globus Cork Inc. announced that it won the Platinum level ADEX award. The prestigious ADEX Awards are sponsored by Design Journal which is an international trade magazine for interior designers and architects. Design Journal recognizes superior product design through the ADEX which is the Award for Design Excellence. Hundreds of manufacturers submit thousands of products each year for evaluation. Globus Cork is very honored and excited to receive the Platinum ADEX award for its Cork Inlays", said Jennifer Biscoe, Globus Corks Marketing Director.

With this award Globus Cork launches its Cork Inlay line which offers a hand-crafted custom floor appearance in an easy to install cork flooring product. Globus Cork offers 10 different design styles which can be used as cut-in borders in cork flooring. Clients can select any pattern and create their own unique color combination for the inlays. The Cork Inlays are sold in 3 foot strips, pre-finished and pre-glued for easy installation.

Cork is the environmentally sound choice for flooring. With great thermal and acoustical insulative properties, Cork is durable as well as soft and warm underfoot. The cork oak tree grown in the Mediterranean is never destroyed to produce cork products. The Cork bark is harvested from the tree every 9 years, leaving the forest undamaged as the tree re-grows more bark. Even better than a renewable resource, Cork is a Harvested Resource. All pigments, varnishes and adhesives that Globus Cork uses in producing its tiles are water-based, solvent-free and eco-friendly. Cork also qualifies as a rapidly-renewable resource under the US Green Building Councils LEED certification program.

Globus Cork Inc. is a US-based manufacturer of colored cork floor and wall tiles as well as colored cork floating floor systems. They offer more than 20 tile shapes and sizes as well as the cork panels in over 30 colors along with custom color and size capabilities.
