Florida Direct Marketing Association Hosts Travel Marketing Luncheon

"Sunny Marketing: How the Pros Market Fort Lauderdale" is the topic for the FDMAs monthly luncheon on Thursday, June 16th at the Westin Hotel on Cypress Creek Road and I-95 in Fort Lauderdale from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The meeting is open to the public and anyone interested in learning more about the South Florida travel market is invited to attend.

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) June 13, 2005 -- Dennis Edwards, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau is the lead speaker for the FDMA luncheon. The CVB provides industry leadership in the marketing of Broward County, including all of its municipalities, as a premier year-round destination for all visitors. Their principle objective is to generate growth in the volume of occupied hotel and motel room nights. Attendees will learn about the full range of CVB domestic and international marketing programs.

"Top 10 marketing myths that are killing the travel business" will be addressed by Kenneth P. Lane, Principal of Hathaway & Lane Direct, LLC, a leading travel marketer. Mr. Lane's expertise in Travel Marketing has supported some of the largest Tour Operators in the country. For Grand European Tours, a $40 million escorted tour operator, he was responsible for Direct Marketing Strategy and Circulation. He built a Brochure Fulfillment system for Swain Tours to support consumers and the Travel Agent communities.

Greater Fort Lauderdale drew 9.4 million visitors in 2004, according to the Visitors and Convention Bureau. This number includes two million international travelers. Sophisticated travel marketing programs drive the tourism industry. Luncheon attendees will learn about what works best in travel marketing for our dynamic South Florida travel industry.
