Washington D.C. (HRmarketer/PRWEB ) June 17, 2005 -- The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a non-profit think tank, professional association and educator in talent management strategies, and SFU Business at Simon Fraser University (SFU), consistently ranked among Canadas top comprehensive universities, announced today a partnership to develop a series of Human Capital Leadership programs for the Vancouver area. As a key component of the agreement, SFU Business will host a series of live Network events featuring executives, faculty, and other leaders who have successfully integrated talent management strategies into their organizations.

"We look forward to working with SFU Business at their new Segal Graduate School of Business," said Allan Schweyer, HCI's Executive Director. "When SFU's new, state-of-the-art graduate business education facility opens in September 2005, it will be the perfect environment for our partnerships networking events for the Vancouver professional community."

The first Network event is a breakfast seminar that will take place at SFU Harbour Centre on Wednesday, July 6, and will feature Dave Lefkow, Director of Market Development for Jobster and award-winning author of numerous articles on technology, recruiting and branding. Lefkow's topic, "Let the Games Begin! Hiring Top Talent" will provide an insightful look at the upcoming "perfect storm" of employment forces: the convergence of a booming economy in British Columbia, the upcoming Olympics and significant demographic factors in the labor market. Lefkow will tie these issues to practical ways the business community can engage in forward-looking workforce planning and innovative recruiting techniques. This inaugural Human Capital Leadership event is being held in conjunction with a two-day Campus Recruiting Forum, featuring HCI's Executive Director, Allan Schweyer, and other prominent recruiting experts. The mission of the forum is to provide organizations the intensive training, exchange of ideas and innovations needed to succeed. The program is timely for the Vancouver area, given the recruiting challenges many sectors are now facing. "By partnering with high-caliber organizations like the Human Capital Institute, SFU Business continues a heritage of innovative programming that brings leading-edge management thinking to the Vancouver business community," said Ernie Love, Dean of SFU Business. "With access to HCIs next generation research and tools SFU Business will continue to provide practical strategies and best practices to those who recognize that effectively managing talent is key to remaining competitive."
