Head for The Hills: Litchfield Taste Turns Twenty

Head for the Northwest hills of Connecticut next weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of A Taste of The Litchield Hills on June 25-25 at Haight Vineyard in Litchfield, Conn. Held at the state's oldest winery, the two-day festival features food, wine, music and upscale shopping.

(PRWEB) June 17, 2005 -- If you enjoy food, wine, music and shopping, celebrate the first weekend of summer with an outing to the 20th anniversary of A Taste of The Litchfield Hills at Connecticut's historic Haight Vineyard on June 25-26.

Held at the state's oldest farm winery, this upscale culinary festival annually attracts up to 5,000 guests from throughout the Northeast to sample fine fare at a country winery in the summer air

The two-day fete features restaurants, bistros and culinary specialists serving offerings from traditional New England dishes to international specialties. So whether you're after an All-American hotdog, live Maine lobster or Pad Thai, your taste buds will be tingling.

Award winning Haight vineyard wines are served by the glass along with ice cold beer on draught, specialty sodas, iced tea and coffee. After indulging in delicious cuisine, attendees may also splurge with tempting desserts, including Italian ice, NY cheesecake and strawberry shortcake.

Guests will also enjoy live musical entertainment, upscale shopping with a myriad of vendors, old fashioned hayrides, plus winery tours featuring complimentary wine tasting.

Live entertainment will include: Too Human — Saturday, Noon to 3 PM; Norm Blackwelder & Point Black — Saturday, 4 to 8 PM; and Cadillac Moon — Sunday, 1 to 5 PM.

A Taste of The Litchfield Hills will be held rain or shine Saturday, June 25, 2005, from 11 am to 8 pm, and Sunday, June 26, 2005, from 11 am to 5 pm. Event admission is $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for Seniors. Children under 12 are admitted free. Food and beverage purchases are additional.

Who: Now in its 20th year, A Taste of the Litchfield Hills annually attracts up to 5,000 attendees from throughout the Northeast.

What: Held rain or shine since 1985, this two-day food and wine fest features culinary purveyors serving house specialties, a covered garden cafe serving Haight Vineyard wines and premium beer by the glass, live entertainment, hayrides, winery tours and shopping with upscale vendors.
