DogFriendly.com Provides Free Storm Evacuation Information

Web site shows thousands of pet-friendly hotels that welcome dogs of all sizes and breeds. The site also provides dog-friendly highway guides.

Pollock Pines, Calif. (PRWEB) June 24, 2005 -- DogFriendly.com announced today that it has developed a free Web page designed to assist people who need to evacuate with pets during a storm.

It is often difficult, especially during times when others are also seeking shelter, to find lodging for you and your pets. Many city and county shelters don't allow pets. Now you can go to www.dogfriendly.com/storm and choose from thousands of pet-friendly hotels and extended stay hotels throughout the United States. In addition, there are also highway guides to Interstate 95 and Interstate 75, which show pet-friendly lodging cities along the highways.

The hotels listed in DogFriendly.com's guide generally allow dogs of all sizes and allow dogs in both smoking and non-smoking rooms. Many of the hotels will allow two or more dogs, and some will allow many pets. If you would like to have the information in a book format, DogFriendly.com's United States and Canada Dog Travel Guide" by Tara Kain is available for purchase at bookstores throughout the United States, at online bookstores and at http://www.dogfriendly.com. The book was named ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year for Pet Books.

DogFriendly.com was founded in 1998 to provide dog travel information and offers a free Web site and publishes paperback books on traveling with your dog. The Web site includes dog-friendly lodging, parks, beaches, outdoor restaurants, stores, events, employers and attractions that allow dogs. It also includes links to many SPCAs and humane societies as well as dog rescue groups.
