Crown Publishing Author Phil Town Mentors Novice Investors on His Blog, "Rule #1 Investing"

Investment blogger and Crown Publishing author Phil Town is using his blog, Rule #1: Phil Town on Investing, to mentor novice investors. Town guides beginners via email and posts, leading them step-by-step through a single stock analysis. Investor "homework" is then critiqued and published on his site.

Jackson Hole, WY (PRWEB) June 29, 2005 -- Investment blogger and Crown Publishing author Phil Town is now mentoring beginning investors on his highly popular blog.

The Rule #1 Blog: Phil Town on Investing”, launched on February 28, 2005, is dedicated to liberating small investors by teaching them how to get rich no matter what happens in the market.”

Town is backing up this statement by coaching first-time, individual investors through the process of a single YUMMMMY” stock analysis. YUMMMMY” is an acronym for the process by which Towns students evaluate both the value of a companys stock and the level of their own understanding of what that company does.

Students use resources on the Rule #1 Blog to help determine a companys competitive advantage, evaluate its management, and make realistic predictions about its future. After completing their Homework” they submit it to Town via email. Select stock analyses, along with Towns critique, are then published on the blog for other beginning investors to study. Companies are given the green light – an A” rating – only if they score high in every category.

Says Town, Rule #1 investors dont buy stock. We buy businesses. That means we evaluate the company as if we owned the whole thing. We want to buy as if this company is the only source of money for us and our families for the next 100 years.”

The bottom line, says Town: Rule #1 is ‘Dont lose money! Sure, Rule #1 investors want to make money in the long run. But they also want to never be at risk – to make money in the short run, too. Thats the safest way to guarantee a big return.”
