Symmetricom Announces New 9210B Military OCXO Crystal Oscillator

Company's oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) exceeds high reliability requirements of US Department of Defense (DOD) applications.
commented Doug Lowrie, product manager at Symmetricom. Our new 9210 OCXO crystal oscillator addresses and exceeds the complex, high reliability requirements for space, defense and avionics markets. Further, this is the only OCXO on the market with the unique combination of low g-sensitivity, ruggedness, and low cost in an industry standard package.

San Jose, CA (Overdrive/PRWEB ) June 30, 2005 -- Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ:SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency products and services, today announced the new 9210B Military oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) designed for ground tactical and airborne applications where superior frequency stability and phase noise are required under severe environments. The 9210B is well suited for these applications because it provides superior phase noise performance, which is critical for radar applications, precise frequency accuracy and the stability necessary for secure communication and navigation applications.

As the military moves toward implementing more advanced communications, navigation and targeting systems, precision oscillators that can withstand a wide range of operating environments is becoming more critical," commented Doug Lowrie, product manager at Symmetricom. Our new 9210 OCXO crystal oscillator addresses and exceeds the complex, high reliability requirements for space, defense and avionics markets. Further, this is the only OCXO on the market with the unique combination of low g-sensitivity, ruggedness, and low cost in an industry standard package."

The Symmetricom 9210B is a commercial off the shelf (COTS) military OCXO designed for ground tactical and airborne applications where superior frequency stability and phase noise are required. The 9210B is based around a 3rd overtone SC cut crystal enclosed in an industry standard 2.0" x 2.0" x 1.25" package and footprint. The standard 9210B oscillator is available in either 5 or 10MHZ output configurations, both of which provide excellent frequency stability and phase noise performance in static or dynamic environments. The 9210B is capable of operation in vibration environments exceeding 30 grms.

Pricing and Availability

The 9210 Military OCXO crystal oscillator will be available for purchase July 1, 2005. Pricing begins at $1,795 USD.
