A Giant Chainsaw Carving was Recently Delivered to a Resort on the Oregon Coast - The question is: Is it a Sign or is it Art? Does the Sign Ordinance Apply? Giant Chainsaw Carvings Can Work Where Signs Cannot - For Hotels, Resorts, Casinos, Banks, and Stores

A giant chainsaw carved sea captain worked where a sign wouldn't. Chainsaw Carvings can avoid sign ordinances, are affordable, and attract attention. This giant Sea Captain chainsaw carving was made for a resort in Oregon.

(PRWEB) July 8, 2005 -- A resort on the Oregon Coast needed an eye catcher. A large sign was out of the question. What other options did they have?

Over Father's Day weekend, a giant chainsaw carved sea captain arrived on their property (http://www.bearinabox.com). The sea captain installation drew crowds and became the talk of the town. The sea captain will continue to draw crowds for years to come, as it is unique and very large.

According to the resort owner, "We had a smaller sea captain and it drew so many people that we knew we wanted a giant one to really attract attention. We have been amazed at the number of times our property has been photographed, as the sea captain's backdrop is our resort. And, surprisingly, it wasn't very expensive."

The carving was made by the George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving near Seattle. They have created hundreds of monument sized carvings over the years. The giant carvings have been chainsaw carved and delivered to hotels, motels, resorts, banks, casinos, and stores.

Those is the hotel and resort industry have been particularly receptive to the idea of having very large chainsaw carvings displayed in front of their properties. The carvings are typically much less expensive than bronze or metal work. The subject matter can range from modern to traditional. Really, the sky is the limit.

Interested parties can call the school at 360-710-5250 or check the website, www.bearinabox.com. Not only does the school provide carvers who can create these massive carvings, they are able to perform shows and events along with the delivery. It just adds to the excitment and promotion of the property.
