The announcement was made today by founder Cornelia Zicu and Rick Aidekman.
Located on the 8th and Penthouse floors of the newly-redesigned Ferragamo flagship building, at 663 Fifth Avenue, the 21,000 square foot Cornelia Day Resort encompasses 14 treatment rooms and includes a staff of 120 aestheticians, massage therapists, hand and nail technicians, hair stylists and colorists, make-up artists and guest relations professionals from around the globe. In his new role as Managing Director at Cornelia Day Resort, Mr. Marxer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the spa, including front-of-house operations, client relations, treatments and services.

Prior to joining Cornelia Day Resort, Mr. Marxer served at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, in Lenox, MA, for four years in various senior management positions, including Director of Men's Programming and Assistant Spa Director. In 2001, he ultimately assumed the role of Spa Director, and firmly established the spa within the industry. During his tenure from 2002-2004, Mr. Marxer was responsible for a 20% increase in overall revenue for 2 years, a 31% increase in beauty services and a 14% increase in personal services. Under his direction, Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine as Overall Best Mega Spa Readers Choice" in 2004, #1 Spa in North America" in 2002 and 2003, and #1 Luxury Resort in North America" by Departures Magazine in 2002 and 2003.
From 2000-2001, Marxer served as Assistant Spa Director and assisted in supervising a staff of more than 300 individuals in all departments of the spa, overseeing the daily operations of the 100,000 square foot spa. Mr. Marxer began his career at Canyon Ranch in 1998 as a Director of Men's Programming, where he was involved in developing programming and schedules aimed at attracting and retaining male guests.
