About Boris Vallejo
Boris Vallejo attended the National School of Fine Arts in his native country of Peru and was recognized for his artwork while working at the Peruvian branch of McCann Erickson, a large advertising agency, before immigrating to the United States in 1964. He has since done a great volume of work for the Fantasy field, having worked for virtually every major publishing house with a science fiction/fantasy line. Boris is especially known for his memorable illustrations for album covers, video box art and motion picture advertising.

Fantasy Artists Design Artwork for RYL

Fantasy painting for Boris came to pass when he painted a warrior fighting a creature from Greek mythology and sold the painting to Warren Publications where it was later published on the cover of an issue of Eerie Comics, a magazine often graced by Frank Frazetta paintings. A superb artist, Boris Vallejo was soon in demand to paint illustrations for book covers, movie posters, and record album jackets. His remarkable imagery engendered a worldwide fan following and a popular book, "The Fantastic Art of Boris Vallejo," first published by Ballantine in 1978. Boris calendars, produced yearly since 1981 by Workman Publications, are among the oldest continuously published theme calendars on the market.

About Julie Bell

Julie Bell began her artistic career in Beaumont, Texas, as she studied art centered on drawing, especially of the human figure. Her unique sense of color and dramatic composition puts her paintings in a class by themselves. Bells legendary "metal flesh" technique has the fluency of water and the hardness of steel while maintaining the sensual softness of the skin. This magical effect has become her unmistakable trademark.

A former competitive bodybuilder, Julie applies the same discipline and intensity to her art career. At the heart of her art is an element of empowerment and independence. Collections of her paintings have appeared in book form, calendars, posters, trading cards, and various other products.
