Hot New Thrift Store Springs Up in Houston

Hot new thrift store in Houston provides help to the community.

(PRWEB) July 18, 2005 -- The Houston Charity Center's Big Charity Sale is fast becoming one of the most successful single location thrift stores in the nation.

The 3,600+ square foot facility is easy to spot at 14110 South Post Oak Road in Houston Texas with bargain hunters often waiting outside before the store opens to get first chance at the day's new arrivals. The shop is bright and attractive with all merchandise neatly displayed and priced.

When we asked, "Why the rave reviews?," co-founder Virginia Bowen smiles and says "It's because we love what a good charity thrift store means to the community - we love the customers we serve and it shows - in our pricing, our inventory, our service - everywhere you look! We process up to 12 new truckloads of merchandise daily. We have what the community is looking for. Furniture, appliances, clothing, home decor and one-of-a-kind treasures - you name it, you can probably find it here!"

The name brand 99 cent clothing items also bring plenty of attention. The clothing is neatly displayed & tagged according to size and type. Patrons buy them by the armful.

Many of the customers we spoke with come exclusively for the fabulous home decor section of the shop. The vast array of crystal, ceramics, art, knick-knacks and collectibles keep them coming back week after week. For others, it is the Angel Food Ministry which allows everyone the ability to save 70% off of the groceries they purchase. A big plus is knowing that their purchases and donations help the Houston Charity Center provide food and household essentials to struggling families.

Overall we found shopping at the Center to be quite a remarkable experience - so next time you're in Houston stop by and check it out.

More information on donating or shopping at the Houston Charity Center's Big Charity Sale can be found online at www.houstoncharitycenter.com or by calling 832-628-6014 (Tax-deductible donation pick up service is available).
