Universal Press Syndicate's 'Digital Slob' Brings Tech Humor to Podcasting

Curt Brandao, Digital Slob" columnist for Universal Press Syndicate, has created digitalslobpod," one of the first podcasts produced to compliment a nationally distributed print feature.

(PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- Curt Brandao, Digital Slob" columnist for Universal Press Syndicate, has created digitalslobpod," one of the first podcasts produced to complement a nationally distributed print feature.

Brandaos print clients include The Times in Shreveport, La., The Aspen Daily News in Aspen, Colo., and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin in Hawaii. Now, the columnist has converted his unique brand of humorous technology content into a roughly 20-minute weekly audio show, which can be automatically downloaded for free into computers or MP3 players through http://www.podcastalley.com, as well as the new podcasting directory available on iTunes.

In his debut show, Brandao introduces the Digital Slob concept to his listeners, invites them to take a Digital Slob Quiz" to see how hopelessly dependent they are on the Digital Age, and offers a free button to the first 100 listeners who e-mail him.

I really have no idea what Im doing," Brandao says, but its a lot of fun. If the Internet is an insane asylum, then podcasting is art therapy.

Plus, sometimes I think of things that would only be funny or interesting in an audio format — so ‘digitalslobpod gives me a chance to get those ideas out there as well," Brandao said.

Podcasting is a new method of delivering audio content through the Net. Listeners can browse the iTunes directory and, with the click of a button, have content from their favorite podcasters downloaded into their MP3 players automatically as each episode is made available. Thousands of podcasters, from veteran radio hosts to preteens, are creating such content on an infinite range of topics.

Im no professional broadcaster," Brandao warns. As a matter of fact, if you turn my show into a drinking game where you take a sip every time you hear my mouse click in the background, youll be under the table before the show intro is over."

More info about "Digital Slob" can be found at http://www.digitalslob.com, including audio excerpts from recent radio interviews, recent columns and the promo for digitalslobpod."

The "Digital Slob" column is available every week for immediate download, e-mail or physical delivery via Universal Press Syndicate's One-Shot Service.

Just contact the Universal Press Syndicate's sales administrator by phone (800-255-6734 ext: 6929) or e-mail UPS (available at http://www.upsoneshots.com/) to receive pricing, distribution and delivery information.
