Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) July 27, 2005 -- Hotels-X.net announced today the addition of Google Maps to its hotel search engine. It uses Google's newly released maps product to launch interactive city maps overlaid with information about hotels and nearby landmarks. This product launch comes less than a week after Google publicly announced it had opened up Google Maps for 3rd party applications and follows on the footsteps of other hailed Google Maps integrations.

This new visual search engine enables travelers to find their perfect hotel on an interactive map of the city, instead of browsing long lists of hotels as presented by other online travel providers. Travelers can instantly refine their search by hotel name, price range, hotel class, guest rating or distance from notable landmarks and see the matching hotels appear and others disappear on the interactive map. Finding the right hotel in the perfect area of town has never been easier.

As far as we know, this is the first time anyone has integrated dynamic hotel data with Google Maps," announced Barbara O'Gorman, Manager for Hotels-X. We are proud to work with this extraordinary public technology from Google to present to travelers a unique and powerful tool for travel planning."

Hotels-X takes all unwanted surprises out of visiting an unknown destination. Using the satellite and hybrid map views, travelers can view the hotel and nearby landmarks from a bird's eye view. In most larger cities, a traveler can even see the hotel and cars in its parking lot using Google's powerful satellite imagery. Grabbing and moving the map with a mouse shows the traveler all the nearby building and city features.

Hotels-X intends to extend its lead in the hotel search industry by continuing to develop cutting-edge user interfaces and to incorporate more relevant geographic and municipal data into its visual hotel search engine.
