2005 NFL Predictions

Here are some 2005 NFL predictions for the AFC which offer some value for the future bettor

Miami Beach, FL (PRWEB) August 1, 2005 -- With New England's world unraveling somewhat in the AFC, this opens up a whole lot of opportunities for the conference. There are bound to be teams outside of the radar which outperform. When considering your 2005 NFL predictions and which teams to place future wagers on, always focus on value (i.e. payout).

The New England Patriots have been an easy choice over these past few years to win the Super Bowl, although the payout odds were pretty nice the first year landing there.

We are not about determining which teams will win it all but rather which teams have the potential to offer a nice payout to gamblers
For the sake of value, however, Gambling911.com has honed in on the divisions themselves when reviewing 2005 NFL predictions.

"We are not about determining which teams will win it all but rather which teams have the potential to offer a nice payout to gamblers," commented Christopher Costigan, Founder and President of Gambling911.com. "The San Diego Chargers, for example, were rated among the worst teams entering the 2004 regular NFL season. They won their division and paid some lucky gamblers a few thousand dollars."

http://www.betmaker.com does have the Kansas City Chiefs listed as the most likely team to win the AFC West with odds of +200 (a $100 bet pays $200; a $10 bet pays $20). Still, this may prove to be a very tight division.

With the Oakland Raiders as an example, streaky quarterback Kerry Collins has a decent cast of offensive supporters, but that won't be enough to offset poor defense. The coaching under Norv Turner is adequate at best. And don't expect Randy Moss to turn things around here overnight either. They might end up a better team than last year, but still not a good enough team to break .500. Nonetheless, looking at all these components as a whole it is easy to feel that Oakland may have a shot of at least winning the AFC West at +285 odds.

In the AFC East, New England is one of the few teams listed in the minus category (at -300, one must bet $300 to win $100 or $30 to win $10). Yet, any of these teams have a shot. Does anybody really believe that Miami will be as bad this year with a new head coach and Ricky Williams? Miami, incidentally, has odds of +1800 posted at Betmaker.com to win the AFC East (a $100 bet pays $1800; a $10 bet pays $180).

When it comes to the AFC East, Gambling911.com feels somewhat strongly about the Buffalo Bills.

"The bookmakers and pundits for the most part have Buffalo pegged as a 4-12 team in 2005," commented Costigan. "After starting 0-4 last season, the Bills went on a 6 game win streak that nearly landed them in the post season. With much of the team remaining intact, there is nothing to suggest they will fail to keep up the momentum."

They have a very good coach in Mike Mularkey. Quarterback J.P. Losman has exceptional athleticism. The offense might prove above average while the defense already is solid as they come.

"Expect the Buffalo Bills to give the rest of the AFC a run for its money," said Costigan. "At 20-1 odds, there is tremendous value. Can they overcome New England? That remains to be seen, but 12 wins in 2005 is not out of the question."

http://www.betcris.com has Buffalo listed with +700 odds to win the AFC East (for every $100 bet, $700 is paid out or for every $10 bet, $70 is paid out).

Bottom line, there is definitely some good value to be found with each individual division when determining your own 2005 NFL predictions. Over the coming weeks, Gambling911.com will be reviewing "value" bets found in the NFC and in college football as the season is about to get underway.
