Christian Author Writes Superhero Book To Respond to Culture

Author Ken Clifton's book, The Christian Superhero Training Guide, was written to respond to the challenges of the day and the apathy of the church.

(PRWEB) August 2, 2005 -- Is it stretching for a Christian author to write a book about Christian Superheroes? Author Ken Clifton doesn't think so.

We live in a world that is thick with villains," says Clifton. "There are physical and spiritual evils in most levels and locations of society, yet the church has not stepped up to the plate to deal with them. It's like a world of villains without superheroes to challenge them."

Clifton insists, however, that he is not talking about Bin Ladin and Al Queda. "Those are products, results, of evil foundations under them. The battle between good and evil begins with the individual."

In The Christian Superhero Training Guide, Clifton has identified 5 Arch Foes that every Christian must face: The Condemned (Demons), The Living Dead (The World), Biological Weapons (The Flesh), Faith Infection (Doubt), and Glory Sunspots (Pride). Each Arch Foe chapter describes the foe's powers, gives references, and shows what we can learn about how to defeat them.

Also in The Christian Superhero Training guide are chapters on Bible superheroes, such as Dream Reader (Joseph), Miracle Man (Elijah), and Lion Tamer (Daniel). There is also a chapter on the powers and possibilities of current superheroes (believers).

Clifton says that man is looking in the wrong direction, when it looks to God to solve all of the worlds problems. God put man on earth to dominate the earth. God put Satan down here under our control. Jesus promised power, in His Name, over all evil on earth. So many believers keep looking for Gods answer to the worlds evils, never thinking for a minute that they, themselves, could be Gods intended light to their dark surroundings, that they are the solution God has planned if they would show the courage of faith to stand against evil and defeat the villains of our day.

The Christian Superhero Training Guide is Ken Cliftons 5th book and is available at amazon.com and other major online retailers, as a special order through Ingram at any Barnes and Noble store, and through many bookstores nationwide.
