Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine Brings Summer of Learning to Egg Donor Programs Around the Country
Noted, successful fertility clinic is letting nurses from around the country in on their secrets for a nearly 75% success rate using donor eggs. Staff who know will be leading participants in two days of sessions focused on maintaining a strong practice and complying with government regulations.

(PRWEB) August 11, 2005 – Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine has partnered with Ferring Pharmaceuticals USA to offer several 2-day workshops intended to assist Infertility nurses from practices around the country in coordinating and expanding their Egg Donor programs. ACRM is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge reproductive technologies and hopes the workshops will allow other clinics to benefit from their experience and success. Speakers will address issues surrounding donor stimulation protocols, the psychological impact of egg donation in donors and recipients and marketing tools and aspects of a successful egg donor program.
As the patient demand for donor eggs increases, many egg donor programs struggle to locate and maintain the supply of quality donors to better serve the needs of their recipient patients. ACRM is able to maintain a nearly 75% success rate for patients choosing to use donor egg in order to achieve pregnancy. Understanding and complying with newly released FDA regulations also poses a challenge.
The 2-day workshops are led by ACRMs Director of Nursing, Mirrin Reagan, who feels, Weve been so successful in helping couples achieve pregnancies through our Egg Donor program; we feel its worthwhile to share what weve learned with other practices and colleagues." Additional speakers include ACRM physician, Jim Toner, MD, PhD, Nancy Sowder, RNC, BSN and Coleman Gfroerer, PhD, LPC. Dr. Toner is the director of ACRMs egg donor program and has published numerous works concerning assisted reproduction using donor eggs and issues surrounding donor stimulation protocols. Nancy Sowder has an experienced clinical background in infertility and has parlayed her knowledge into the Director of Clinical Referral Services at ACRM. In regards to egg donation, Nancys efforts include developing impactful marketing tools to attract egg donors to the program and monitor the success of those tools. As the director of Psychological Services at ACRM, Dr. Coleman Gfroerer is experienced with working with both donors and recipients on the psychological outcomes of using donor technology. The most recent workshop was August 9 – 10 at ACRMs Perimeter office location near Northside Hospital.
