The Performer's Academy Awarded School of the Year
Orange County's Talent Wins Top Awards, Students Take Home 5 of 9 Top Awards
(PRWEB) August 14, 2005 -- This year, The Performers Academy walked away with the coveted School of The Year" trophy at WMTC Talent Convention. In addition, students from the academy walked away with five of the top nine honors.
I am immensely proud of all students who attended. They worked very hard for months preparing for this event and their hard work paid off." Because of their dedication and the coaching by film director Jeff Celentano, our talent went in there prepared and confident. Suzy Lee, our talent coordinator but in hundreds of hours working with the parents and students getting them ready for this event" says Costa.
Winners were Irvines Audrey Hewko, taking top honors for Model of the Year and Most Callbacks totalling 63 in all. Audrey is a statuesque young woman that has a very bright future in high fashion modeling. In addition, Audrey is a wonderfully talented actress. Her acting coach, Jeff Celentano says of Audrey, shes not afraid to throw herself in a role. She takes it, takes direction and runs with it. Its very refreshing working with someone like Audrey." In one of Audreys competitions she did a scene from a Friends" episode. Immediately afterwards, producers were approaching her and her mother expressing interest in setting up meetings for Audrey."
Many top modeling agencies from all over the world are scouting Audrey. Her mom, Leticia Hewko says, It's overwhelming and wonderful at the same time. So many people are looking to represent Audrey; were just taking this one step at a time."
Laguna Niguels Tyler Guerrero won Pre-Teen Talent of the Year with a coveted 30 callbacks. Tyler is represented by Commercial Talent Agency and has a lead roll in a Disney feature lined up. Tyler is one amazing actor" says Jeff Celentano
Laguna Niguels Gabby Gerstley won Talent of the Year. Gabby is a very versitile and talented actor" says Celentano. I can give her a monologue, beef it up with a Russian accent and dialogue, and she just goes for it."
Corrinne Moloo of Coto de Caza carried off the Talent of the Year award. Corrinne is a fabulous dancer who competes on a regular basis. Shes also a terrific actress. In addition Corrinne was asked to dance at the awards banquet.
Kristie Bylund from Laguna Niguel received a record number of callbacks and is signing with an agent this week.
The Performer's Academy offers classes and workshops for children, teens, and adults and all programs are affordable.
Owner, Natalie Costa is appearing this month on Cox 3's hit show The Mix. It's an informative segment talking about children in the entertainment industry.
