(PRWEB) August 19, 2005 -- According to an Indiana University report the average student only studies 20 minutes a day. That amounts to three hours of studying each week. Dr. Stephen Jones has discovered amazing new strategies that help students to study effectively, earn better grades and graduate. Dr. Stephen Jones has published a book titled Seven Secrets of How to Study" that uncovers several techniques that help students to earn an A+ right away. In the book, Dr. Jones says students must begin with the end in mind. Each student must determine the grade that they want at the conclusion of each class and go for it the very first day. The amazing fact may sound simple but students who have a good attitude their teacher/professor earn better grades.

According to Dr. Jones, on the first day of school students frequently are unable to control their feelings about their teacher. If they like their teacher/professor on the first day that good feeling is maintained throughout the semester. If they dislike the teacher/professor on the first day that bad feeling is hard to remove from their mind. Dr. Jones says students who learn to withhold their judgment about certain teachers/professors perform better because they focus on obtaining a good grade.

A student must remember that they are responsible for how they feel and respond to a teacher/professor. Dr. Jones recommends that a student should approach each class with an optimistic attitude and outstanding preparation. Each student must have a plan to get organized after the first day of school, which is critical to a students success. A student should prepare for classes they will have next semester by reading text books a semester before enrolling in a class. This student is positioning him/herself to break down some of the barriers they may have experienced on the first day of class. Here is what one student said about Dr. Jones book:

My name is Tunomukwathi Asino was present when I came to speak at Cabrini College earlier in the year. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your knowledge about study skills. I earned a 3.3 GPA, which is a good start for me considering I just transferred from Namibia."

Dr. Jones book Seven Secrets of How to Study" offers easy to read and valuable tips to eliminate another graduation culprit called procrastination. Procrastination creeps in like weeds that entangle and choke the enthusiasm out of a student who aspires to be successful. To eliminate procrastination students must unlock the patterns that prevent them from getting started on projects and home work assignments. Dr. Jones says successful students write down an academic calendar and follow it right away. Visit his website at www.sevensecrets-books.com.
