Jewish Organization in Florida Is Protestesting the Gaza Expulsion

International Society for Sephardic Progress is teaming up with Americans For a Safe Israel and the Zionist Organization of America to protest the Gaza expulsion.

(PRWEB) August 14, 2005 -- The International Society for Sephardic Progress (ISFSP) will be in Miami August 15, 2005 joining the Worldwide Solidarity Rally for the Land of Israel demonstrating against the expulsion of Jews from Gush Katif and Northern Samaria, Israel.

The ISFSP is teaming up with Americans For a Safe Israel and the Zionist Organization of America in the southeast United States to offer an evening of support to the people of Gaza and to democratically voice our opinion, one that says you do not ethnically cleanse Jews from their land and homes to reward terrorism.

Shelomo Alfassa, executive director of the ISFSP has been invited to address the crowd on this evening. He stated:

"Gaza, is a part of the holy land of Israel, it is part of the divine land which was decreed to the Jewish people. In this terrible time of crisis, we remember the words of Rav Yitshak Nissim, the Chief Sephardic Rabbi of Israel that said, 'The Land of Israel was, with its borders, defined for us by Divine Providence...No power on earth can alter that which was created by God.'"

These worldwide events are coordinated by The Alliance for Eretz Yisrael, a worldwide coalition that has joined together concerned organizations and prominent individuals in order to stop the expulsion of Jews and the surrender of Israel's government to terrorism. The Worldwide Solidarity Rally will occur in countries across the world, simultaneously.

The rally in Miami will start at 6:30pm and the public is invited to partake in Jewish solidarity, live, music, international speakers and prayer. It will be held Monday, August 15, 2005, 6:30pm. at Biscayne Blvd. between 3rd and 4th Street. More information can be obtained by visiting: www.letmypeoplestay.org or contacting Linda Ostachev at 305-931-0620. Both Jews and non-Jews that love and support Israel are asked to attend.

Editors note: The International Society for Sephardic Progress (ISFSP) is a non-profit Jewish organization developed to serve the Sephardic Jewish community. Although based in the United States, the ISFSP is an advocacy organization representing Sephardim internationally. The ISFSP also functions to produce high quality Jewish educational projects which will educate the public on the rich Sephardic Jewish communities, past and present.

Historical note: The Sephardic Jews make up the second largest division of the Jewish population. The Sephardim have their historic roots in Spain, Portugal, North Africa as well as Mesopotamia and Arabia. They developed and shared common religious and cultural bonds with their fellow co-religionists from the Iberian/North African Atlantic seaboard to the eastern portion of the Fertile Crescent for at least the last 1,500 years. Sephardim have developed and possess a shared relationship based upon unique religious traditions, collective ideals, customs and ethnicity.
