Baghdad Sailor Salutes ACFA for Its Assistance

A U.S. Navy master at arms based in Baghdad has gone above and beyond the call of duty in honoring the American Cash Flow Association® for its assistance in helping him get started in a new career when he returns home.

ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) August 17, 2005 -- A U.S. Navy master at arms based in Baghdad has gone above and beyond the call of duty in honoring the American Cash Flow Association® for its assistance in helping him get started in a new career when he returns home.

Capt. Luis Arellano of Long Beach, California asked that an American flag flown over his barracks on July 5 be dedicated to ACFA. The association recently sent Arellano a set of training materials, a laptop computer, and a printer. These items will help the sailor get started on his new cash flow career when he returns home in two months.

Rewey said after receiving the flag. What we have done for him, when put into perspective, is nothing compared to what he and his comrades are doing for us.

ACFA first heard of Arellanos story in April 2004 when he contacted the associations president, Fred Rewey, and asked if he could retake the cash flow industry training he had taken through the American Cash Flow Institute in April 2003.

Arellano explained that when he first took the training, he had just returned from his first deployment to Baghdad where he suffered injuries that required that he be returned to the United States. A member of the Navy Reserve, Capt. Arellano was originally called up shortly after September 11, 2001.

Upon his return to the states, Arellano experienced some personal setbacks that left him depressed and, after quitting his job, homeless. He sought and received assistance from the Veterans Administration, then decided to take the ACFI training in the hopes of pursuing a career in the cash flow industry. About a year after the training, Arellano said he was in a situation where he felt he could start that career, but he wanted to refresh his memory by retaking the training.

Rewey agreed to let him retake the training out of respect for Arellanos service to his country. However, before the new training could be scheduled, Arellano was called back to Baghdad. He is serving in support of the Navy SEALS and other special forces in Iraq.

Arellanos dedication to military service impressed Rewey, so ACFA agreed to give the sailor a laptop computer and printer along with a fresh set of instructional materials and to send them to his Long Beach address where he will find them when he returns home.

Upon hearing about the gift, Arellano wrote, Again, I thank you for everything that American Cash Flow has done. Furthermore, because American Cash Flow is going out of their way to help me out, I will fly an American flag in Iraq on their behalf and mail it to them."

The Association received the flag and a coin commemorating the event last week.

The flag and coin will be displayed in a place of honor.
