The Computer Group and Collegiate Images Sign Home Entertainment Distribution Agreement for Full Game College Sports Broadcasts on DVD

A partnership between Collegiate Images and The Computer Group will bring original network broadcasts of college football and basketball games to sports fans everywhere on DVD. There will be 30 new releases this year including the 1991 Fiesta Bowl game between Louisville and Alabama and the Michigan victory over Nebraska in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl.

Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) August 18, 2005 -- The Computer Group (www.thinktcg.com) and Collegiate Images (www.collegiateimages.com) today announced they have reached an agreement for The Computer Group to license Collegiate Images extensive college sports library of full game broadcasts.

The licensing and distribution agreement will enable The Computer Group to sell regional and national college sports programming on DVD. Through this initiative, The Computer Group will gain access to Collegiate Images comprehensive archives from colleges and universities, conferences, bowl games and broadcast rights holders. By bringing Collegiate Images content together with The Computer Groups strong media manufacturing and retail distribution, more fans will be able to own and enjoy these classic college games.

The first releases under this agreement include the 1991 Fiesta Bowl Game between Louisville and Alabama, the 1999 Hall of Fame Game between Auburn and Ohio State, and two Michigan football victories -- the 1981 Rose Bowl Game and the 1986 win over Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl. In all 30 new titles will be added to a catalog of over 40 complete game releases that the company has released under its Greatest Games Ever brand. Each product will have the identifying Collegiate Images consumer mark on the cover, as well as the Collegiate Images hologram sticker signifying the DVDs as an officially licensed product.

"We're very happy to be working with The Computer Group because of their understanding of the collegiate sports marketplace," said Mark Geddis, President of Collegiate Images. "They saw the potential of bringing original network broadcasts of these great games to DVD."

"With Collegiate Images help, we've been able to uncover and release some games that fans thought they'd never see again," said Suzanne Erickson, CEO of The Computer Group. "Now they can relive the excitement of every exciting play in full screen digital video."
