TAM Mercosur, Leading Paraguyan Airline, Signs with RASSA

RASSA, a leading provider of new and low cost Web-based airline reservations solutions, signs agreement with TAM Mercosur, the leading Paraguayan air carrier. By using RASSAs R@N.One system, TAM Mercosur will significantly reduce its costs while also achieving greater product distribution efficiencies.

(PRWEB) August 25, 2005 -- RASSA Holdings Limitada (RASSA"), an established provider of new sales, services and marketing solutions to airlines, recently signed TAM Mercosur to use R@N.One, its comprehensive and modularized Internet-based passenger service system. Functional modules of the R@N.One system include flight information, fares management, seat inventory control, reservations, sales, ticketing, check-in, as well as unique sales distribution and management reports. With this agreement, RASSA secures a strategic new Latin American client and its ninth, worldwide.

José Luis Tolosa, founding partner and Chief Sales Officer of RASSA, said we are extremely pleased and honored to have TAM Mercosur join our rapidly growing family of satisfied airline clients. We believe that TAM Mercosurs decision demonstrates the urgent need for airlines to move into the 21st Century and replace technologies developed in the 1960s. Leveraging our large team of very talented airline industry and leading edge technology experts, we believe that our proven solution will revolutionize the global airline industry."

Javier Hickethier, Commercial Director of TAM Mercosur, emphasized that our company is excited to implement the R@N.One system because its cutting-edge technology will considerably improve our inventory control and ticketing processes. As a result, TAM Mercosurs important decision is consistent with its customer service philosophy – enhancing choices for travelers and investing in technology."

In addition to important economic advantages, R@N.One also offers significant cost-savings benefits:

1. Reduction of distribution costs through direct Internet connectivity, thereby eliminating costly communications expenses;

2. Efficiency gains in serving passengers through a user-friendly point-and-click interface that renders the cryptic screens typical of legacy systems obsolete;

3. Allows airline management real-time access to all sales and operational activities within the system, as business occurs, eliminating the traditional 24-hour waiting periods for information reports. All data is visible, real-time and accessible via the Internet with corresponding password security.

Transportes Aéreos del Mercosur S.A. (TAM Mercosur), formerly LAP (Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas) and since 1996, Paraguays new airline," is the continuation of investment projects by ARPA (Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas), formed by Commander Rolim, who initiated his investments in 1994 with ARPA-Trans América Línea Aérea S.A., with its charter flights. TAM Mercosur now operates on a code-sharing system with Aerolíneas Argentinas for the Buenos Aires frequencies, Lan Chile for flights to Iquique and Santiago, and Pluna for flights to Montevideo. Grupo TAM also holds agreements with American Airlines, Grupo Taca, and Air France. Currently, TAM Mercosur operates in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Ciudad del Este, São Paulo, Sta. Cruz, Cochabamba, Santiago and Curitiba, having recently achieved a solid consolidation within the regional market. In high seasons, TAM Mercosur carries out special flights to Florianópolis, Punta del Este and other cities. TAM Mercosur registered 348,000 passengers boarded in 2004 and is expected to grow around 15% in 2005.
