Progressive Resources, a corporate events and team building events management company, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Web site, www.teambuilding.co.uk.

This team building events Web site was launched in September 1995, around the same time that both Yahoo! and Amazon launched theirs.

We were one of the first companies in our industry to have a Web site,” says Managing Director James Coakes. We were able to buy a domain name that truly reflects our business and that has been instrumental in our development.”

In 1995 the company had a turnover of under 300,000. This year turnover will be 1.5 million and most of the new business comes from the Internet.

Coakes says part of the reason the Web site is so successful is because of their ideal domain name. About half of our Web site traffic comes from visitors who directly type in our domain name rather than searching for us through search engines. People seem to simply type in our domain name to see what site comes up," says Coakes.

And those Net surfers who type in the domain name "teambuilding.co.uk" are usually looking for exactly what the site provides. "Internet users seem to be increasingly frustrated by all of the directories that make up the top results in some search engines. They want to get straight to a supplier,” explains Coakes.
