Breathe Easy Stop-Smoking Clinic Opens in Kalispell

KALISPELL, MONTANA (PRWEB) September 2, 2005 -- Smokers who want to quit have a new alternative. According to smoking cessation specialist Steve Malley, a combination of education and hypnosis can help virtually anyone to "kick the habit." Malley recently opened Breathe Easy Smoking Cessation to help people do just that -- stop smoking using their own resources.

"Most people think quitting means an awful withdrawal and that is simply not true. The program we use helps people understand the problem and then helps keep fears in check using hypnosis," explains Malley.

Cigarette smoking kills 440,000 people in the United States each year. More people die from tobacco each year than by HIV, drug abuse, alcohol, car accidents, suicides, and murders combined. Despite drug companies, tobacco companies, and health organizations best efforts, people still return to smoking at an alarming rate – even in clinical trials, fewer than 30% of smokers quit using Nicotine Replacement Therapy (like the patch). Its ironic that we dont have rehabilitation centers for smokers given the scope of the problem. Perhaps if organizations like the AMA recognized smoking as a disease more could be done to help," suggests Malley.

Many clients are surprised to discover that hypnosis is very relaxing. The hypnosis was very straight-forward," says Dal Averill, a satisfied customer. I smoked for 30 years and was concerned about the side-effects from quitting. Hypnosis reduced the cravings actually made the whole experience much more manageable."

The program is said to work for anyone who wants to quit. It is a vital alternative for people concerned about drug interactions or pregnant women who smoke – people may not be able to use Nicotine Replacement or anti-depressants safely. The Breathe Easy program consists of three parts: preparing, quitting, and follow-up. The cost of the program is $300. Pack-a-day smokers can recover that amount in two months. The real benefit, though, money aside, is the improvement in your total quality of life," says Malley. There is no substitute for clean air, a longer life, and breathing easier."
