New Munsters™ Movie Stirs Fan Howls

While fans of the weird and wacky classic TV family, The Munsters™ impatiently wait for their turn at a big screen remake, they go all-out in decorating their homes for Halloween in truly monstrous Munster style!

Niles, Illinois (PRWEB) September 2, 2005 -- As Herman Munster would say, "It isn't fair!"

From "Bewitched," "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "The Addams Family," many classic TV shows from the baby boomer years are enjoying a renaissance of popularity on movie screens nationwide. Even "Gilligan's Island" has a cringe-worthy reality show remake on TBS.

So when word was released on the Munsters' 40th Anniversary that the Wayans brothers had signed a deal with Universal Pictures to bring "The Munsters" TV show to the big screen, you could hear fans of the First Family of Fright screaming with delight around the world.

The screams have since turned into howls of indignation as nothing more has ever been said about the upcoming project. Has the movie been buried alive? Do the Wayans need more electricity in the script to bring Herman Munster back to life? Universal is remaining as silent as the grave.

Now, fueled by anticipation for the once-promised new Munsters movie, interest in all things Munsters has reached an all-time high. A nationwide craze is on for monstrous Munster-themed Halloween home decorating and Munster events. Johnny Dare, notorious national morning shock jock based at 98.9 KZRC Kansas City radio station, sums up the fan frenzy succinctly; "The Munsters are gold for Halloween!"

As an example of Munsters gold, Hawthorne Village, a Chicago-area collectibles company, unearthed a monster hit when they debuted The Munsters Halloween Village. Hailed as one of the most unique Munsters-inspired collectibles, and a must-have Munsters Halloween home decoration, this is the first-ever collectible village display inspired entirely by America's most horrifyingly hilarious family. Featuring eerie lights, spooky sound effects, moving figures, and collectible figurines of Herman, Lily, Grandpa, Marilyn and Eddie, the complete, limited-edition Munsters' Halloween village collection is available online at www.collectiblestoday.com.
