University of Maryland Medical Director Resigns to Co-Found Fibromyalgia Clinic Based on New, Unique Treatment Model
A Medical Director has resigned her position at the University of Maryland to open a clinic combining Modern Western and Traditional Chinese medical techniques, used in concert with psychotherapy, a combination unique in the treatment of fibromyalgia. (PRWEB) September 3, 2005 -- Janine Blackman, M.D., PhD. has resigned her position as Medical Director at the University of Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine (UMCIM) and will be involved on a full-time basis in the opening of an integrative medical clinic to treat fibromyalgia, combining Western and Eastern medical approaches with psychotherapy.
Dr. Blackman and her partners Jonathan Gilbert, NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and Anita Bains, APRN, BC, (a specialist in psychotherapeutic treatment of chronic afflictions, including fibromyalgia) have demonstrated substantial success in arresting the causes of fibromyalgia and eliminating for the long term its symptoms in their patients.
