Puppyfish LLC Announces Fortune Girls ®, an Inspiring "tween" Brand and Product Line Built on Social Conscience and Girl Power

Puppyfish LLC President Barbara Clarke-Ruiz announced the launch of Fortune Girls®, an inspiring new brand and product line with a social conscience aimed at empowering young girls aged 7-13. The idea for Fortune Girls ® came from the imagination of Madison Tyler Ruiz, an artistic and bubbly nine-year-old from Glen Ridge, New Jersey. Madison created The Fortune Girls ®, a series of twenty-five cartoon-like girl characters, each aptly named and with her own quirky personality and style. The Fortune Girls will help communicate and reinforce the messages of empowerment and goodwill distinguishing this new brand as one with social awareness, exemplifying cultural diversity and a global consciousness.

New York City, NY (PRWEB) September 7, 2005 -- Puppyfish LLC President Barbara Clarke-Ruiz announced the launch of Fortune Girls ®, an inspiring new brand and product line with a social conscience aimed at empowering young girls aged 7-13. The idea for Fortune Girls ® came from the imagination of Madison Tyler Ruiz, an artistic and bubbly nine-year-old from Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

Madison created The Fortune Girls, a series of twenty-five cartoon-like girl characters, each aptly named and with her own quirky personality and style. The Fortune Girls will help communicate and reinforce the messages of empowerment and goodwill distinguishing this new brand as one with social awareness, exemplifying cultural diversity and a global consciousness.

Fortune Girls is about encouraging young girls to look on the bright side of life and feel good about themselves -- not because of body type, clothes or boyfriends. It is about empowering young girls with the knowledge that they have the power to make a difference in themselves and the world and have fun while doing it!" says Clarke-Ruiz, who in addition to being Madison's mother is also a long-time sports apparel design consultant and president of BCSwirl Inc.

Each Fortune Girls product will come with a 'goodie goodie' which Clarke-Ruiz describes as "a surprise found in every Fortune Girls product that reinforces a message of empowerment and goodwill. 'Goodie goodies' will give girls ideas about little things they can do every day to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others."

Fortune Girls products will include groovy framed prints, paper goods, pajamas, T-shirts, bedroom accessories, and footwear. Ideally marketed, Fortune Girls® caters to the 7- to 13-year-old tween" sector. It has been reported that tweens influence $74 billion of annual family spending, and that this young group spends more than $10 billion a year on their own.

Two of Madison's framed Fortune Girls prints are up for bid on eBay.com. The winning bidders will receive a signed message from Madison. The proceeds from the auction will be sent to www.BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund, a charitable service to benefit individuals and families determined to be victims of publicly declared disasters. These funds will go to individual families who have opened their homes to families displaced by Hurricane Katrina, to supplement their personal households as the recovery efforts continue.

A precocious doodler from the start, Madison says she created The Fortune Girls with a little the help from her dad, an amateur artist himself. Adds Madison, Fortune Girls are for regular girls just like me who enjoy hanging with friends, helping others, laughing, and having fun. Girls that like funky stuff for their rooms, such as bedding, cute pj's and tees, funny books, bracelets, telephones and really cool, fun electronic stuff."

When Madison isnt drawing or sewing, she loves playing games or outdoors. I am 9 years old and very tall," she says. "I play soccer, draw and I like to dance as well as play video games and do crafts. Im just a regular girl."

Whats next for The Fortune Girls? We have just launched our new Web site," says Clarke-Ruiz, "so girls can visit and play fun games, get information about life and school, and meet all 25 of the Fortune Girls® there at www.fortunegirls.net/intro.html . We are talking with companies in hopes that we can find one that loves the art and the message enough to represent us. We have some great product ideas and we have put together a cool style guide."
