Microdasys Unveils Version 3.0 of SCIP Encrypted Content Security

New version of market leading SSL scanner provides a wealth of new features for the inspection and management of encrypted webtraffic.

Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) September 8, 2005 -- Microdasys today unveiled version 3.0 of SCIP, the leading encrypted content inspection and SSL scanner software. Setting new standards in manageability and user administration, this release is especially valuable for managed security providers and large to very large enterprises.

"Many of our large customers have asked for the new administration features in SCIP" said Andy Baumhof, VP R&D and CTO of Microdasys. "Multiple account management, multi-administrators and extended reporting are indispensable for managed service providers and large enterprises alike."

SSL encryption is one of the cornerstones of today's eCommerce and business-to-business applications. However, it is impossible for firewalls and content scanners to scan SSL encrypted webtraffic, hence making encryption an easy backdoor for hackers. Weak registration processes and ineffective revocation checking of digital certificates only add to the problem. SCIP enables any content security scanner such as Antivirus, Java/Active X filters and Intrusion Detection to scan, inspect, manage and control SSL encrypted traffic and checks any digital server certificate for validity and revocation status. With SCIP, a security administrator can apply the same security policies and procedures to SSL ("https") and non-SSL ("http") traffic. Unlike a reverse proxy, SCIP is protecting the whole enterprise network from dangerous and inappropriate encrypted webtraffic.

According to Karl Altmann, CEO of Microdasys:
"The new version of SCIP again sets the standard in encrypted content inspection. The wealth of new features combined with our longstanding experience in this market gives our customers the peace of mind they need when they conduct their business over the internet."
