Lifeboat Has Successful Refit: Launches Version 1.1

Lifeboat sales increase and popularity drives launch of Version 1.1.

(PRWEB) September 14, 2005 -- Lifeboat, the data recovery and file transfer CD that is taking the tech world by storm, is launching as Version 1.1 on Wednesday, September 14, 2005. Lifeboat 1.1 has rebuilt and upgraded the internals of the user interface to permit rapid development of non-English versions of the program.

In addition, an improved card reader takes care of the difficulty that version 1.0 encountered in viewing the hard drives of certain computers. On systems which have Norton GoBack installed, in rare instances, Lifeboat 1.0 had an issue identifying Windows partitions. This has been corrected.

The basic program remains the same," said Chief Technology Officer Jonathan Lyster, however we found that in rare cases there were issues that made reading the hard drive difficult if not impossible. Those have been corrected."

I am very pleased that the introduction of Lifeboat version 1.1 will permit us to market the product in French, German, Spanish and Japanese," remarked President Gordon Wilson. We anticipate the first of those, the French version to be available later this week."

All those who have purchased version 1.0 will be entitled to a free download of the updated version.Lifeboat 1.1 can be purchased at www.tugboatenterprises.com and a free demo can be downloaded.

Tugboat Enterprises will move forward with retail sales of Lifeboat in the fall of 2005, and will broaden its foreign market share with the introduction of Lifeboat in French, German, Spanish, and Japanese.

We recently reviewed the Lifeboat data recovery software. It's a terrific utility that everyone -- and I do mean everyone -- should have on a CD sitting next to their Windows PC." Howard Carson, Managing Editor, Kickstartnews www.kickstartnews.com/reviews/utilities/lifeboat_1.html

Fundamental changes to Lifeboat in Version 1.1.0 include:

  • The internals of the user interface have been rebuilt to permit rapid development of non-English versions;
  • On certain machines containing card readers, Version 1.0 had problems viewing the hard drives. This has been corrected in Version 1.1;
  • On systems with Norton GoBack installed, sometimes Lifeboat Version 1.0 had an issue identifying Windows partitions. Version 1.1 has no problem.
