Sandia National Laboratories Chooses Adacel Simulator

Major strategic facility chooses Adacel Systems security simulator for staff training and improved protection.

Orlando (PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- Adacel has been awarded a contract to provide advanced security control room simulators to Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Adacels Command and Control Security Simulator and Emergency Dispatch Communications Simulator will be used to provide operator training on the new generation of IP based security systems. The systems simulate the security control room operators station and communications system for critical national infrastructure such as airports, harbors and nuclear power facilities, as well as for buildings and temporary installations.

Adacels CEO North America Fred Sheldon, said that the systems had been developed from the companys world leading Air Traffic Control Tower simulation technology and established Adacel as a leader in the emerging market for security simulation systems.

"The training methods and techniques that have been perfected using Adacels simulators for Air Traffic Controllers can now be applied to the training of security personnel," Mr. Sheldon explained. "Almost one million security personnel are charged with guarding the nuclear power facilities, ports and critical infrastructure of the United States alone.

"Improved training for security personnel through simulation is an important step in enhancing homeland security," Mr. Sheldon said.

Adacels Command and Control Simulator

Adacels Command and Control Simulator can be used as a stand alone simulator or can emulate the video and sensor feeds for an operating command and control security system. Both live and simulated information can be displayed simultaneously.

The system includes tools to easily create and run complex, fully interactive scenarios within a 3-dimensional environment, in addition to simulating inputs from a variety of mechanical sensors.
