Edmund Scientific in the Movies

Known for their science-centric catalogs and website, and having provided product for numerous television shows including PBS's Rough Science and ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Edmund Scientific now moves into the movies with "The Mansfield Projekt", a supernatural thriller.

(PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- Edmund Scientific has been in the business of selling science products since the 1940's. Today Edmund offers over 2,000 different science related items including telescopes, robots, and weather stations.

Their products have appeared in a number of television programs over the years, including PBS's Rough Science show and ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. At the top of their "product placement" list is their unique Astroscan Telescope. An Edmund's mainstay for nearly 30 years, this odd looking optical device looks like modern art but is really considered one of the best beginner telescopes on the market.

Now Edmund Scientific's products will be appearing in the upcoming feature film: "The Mansfield Projekt". This supernatural thriller, written and produced by David R. Williams, writer of "Ice Queen" and "Killer Asylum" and to be directed by Greg Lamberson starts shooting in November. The story of a group of ghost hunters who spend a terrifying night in a haunted prison, "The Mansfield Projekt" takes place in the infamous Mansfield Reformatory, a real prison used for over 100 years and claimed to be haunted by literally dozens of ghosts.

"Shooting a ghost story in a real haunted place is either incredibly smart or incredibly stupid," said David Williams, "I like to think we're just incredibly smart, but we'll see what happens."

The Edmund products used in the film include EMF meters and a wide variety of illumination devices found under Edmund's "Unique Lighting" category.

"The products are all part of the ghost hunter's ghost hunting package. There's EMF meters for detecting psychic energy, listening devices, and all kinds of very cool looking lighting devices. By using Edmund Scientific products in the film, we add additional production value, and Edmund Scientific gets a screen credit that will hopefully introduce the name to thousands of potential customers."

"We are open to other branding partnerships with other companies. All they have to do is contact us."
