FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOS ANGELES, CA, Sept. 20, 2005 - Toni Ferrari announced today that she is currently shopping her very own television series. The show currently being pitched to network executives is titled IÂM REALLY AN ACTRESS! The new series will follow the trials and tribulations of a notorious reality star who is a legitimate actress trying to make it in Hollywood. IÂM REALLY AN ACTRESS! is a semi-scripted blurred takeoff on Toni FerrariÂs real life after appearing on five reality shows. This innovative series will take scripted comedy and collide it with reality television for a ground-breaking new format that infuses ToniÂs real life with a scripted dream existence.
The sensational Toni Ferrari shocked audiences with her "in-your-face" style, which was bolstered by the editing and manipulation techniques of producers. Ferrari, currently seen on E!Âs KILL REALITY series and in Creative LightÂs soon-to-be released horror flick THE SCORNED (Premiering in October on E!) is most known as the breakout star of FOX reality shows LOVE CRUISE and PARADISE HOTEL. All three series continue to air around the globe to enormous fanfare. In addition, Toni has also appeared on BLOW OUT and BLIND DATE.
FerrariÂs IÂM REALLY AN ACTRESS! is currently being reviewed by several major-league studios and production companies. The showÂs premise will play on the positive and negative experiences Toni has gone through during her rapid rise to reality show stardom. The series follows Toni through a spectrum of obstacles from extreme situations with adoring fans, irate show viewers and entertainment industry executives to friends and loving family. The scripted sit-com portion of the series will be ToniÂs fantasy life acted out in the style of reality drama. The true reality scenes will include improvisation and the real life encounters caught on tape. ÂItÂs the best of both worlds! IÂM REALLY AN ACTRESS! is the deconstruction of the reality show and the reality star. states ToniÂs creative producing partner Jim Strzalkowski. ÂSome in the industry are calling this new type of format a 'hybrid.' I prefer the term Âreality-com says Strzalkowski who previously worked on the Tom Green Show for MTV and held positions in marketing and sales at Paramount Pictures and MGM Worldwide Television.
The series will feature guest star spots for current reality television stars plus an ensemble cast of strong well-known comedic actors. ÂThis show will get wild. Is it reality or is it a dream? It will be hard to tell at times. Anything can happen and it will. I canÂt wait to start taping! exclaims Ferrari. She also adds ÂThe pilot script is over-the-top funny! I believe anyone who loves reality and old school comedy will be captivated by our show.Â
Advertisers will be happy as well. There will be a bundle of opportunity for product placements as this show will play to the huge 18-49 market. Jim Strzalkowski adds ÂIn a time when television is flooded with reality shows and stale sit-coms, this show crosses the line and boldly brings in a much needed, healthy dose of fresh air.Â
