OpenPro announces Free Business Software for Hurricane Katrina Victims

Businesses impacted by the Hurricane Katrina disaster can be up and running their own business software system within a day with a free offer from OpenPro, a provider of open source ERP software to small and mid-sized businesses.

PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fountain Valley, CA (PRWEB) September 17, 2005 -- Businesses impacted by the Hurricane Katrina disaster can be up and running their own business software system within a day with a free offer from OpenPro, a provider of open source ERP software to small and mid-sized businesses,

OpenPro, which has delivered quick start business software to hundreds of American businesses since 1998, announced a special program to help companies impacted by the Katrina disaster.

Effective immediately, affected businesses are eligible for free software, set up and Web-based training of OpenPros Easy ERP using the Application Service Provider (ASP) software version. The software includes modules for finance, distribution, manufacturing, customer relationship management (CRM) and e-commerce.

OpenPros ASP option is ideal for business hit by Katrina, because users only need a connection to the Internet to access the software, which runs on a computer at OpenPros headquarters.

A business can be set up, trained and running OpenPro software within a day. OpenPro is waiving the set up fee and Web-based training fee through October 31, and offering a 50% discount through December 31, 2005 for all businesses in designated disaster areas.

Jim Clark, president of OpenPro, said Businesses in the area hit by Katrina need to get back on their feet fast, without waiting for IT services to resume, and at a low cost. We want to help those businesses, by providing free software during the initial recovery period.

Companies can be up and running on Easy ERP in a day. As companies get on their feet, they can choose to bring OpenPro software in house, or continue to run on an ASP basis”, continued Mr. Clark.
