Noah's Animal Figurines is conducting an online poll with this question: "Should hurricane victims be permitted to take their pets with them?"

90% of pet owners consider their pets to be part of the family, so it should not be surprising that pet owners refused to evacuate their homes without their pets. Those who complied with the mandatory evacuation were forced to leave their pets to fend for themselves or die.

Pet owners experience a great deal of grief when losing a pet, so how are they feeling having to abandon them?

To a pet owner, it is like leaving a child behind. The pain has to be tremendous. Even the hotel owners recognize the importance of pets to people. They have opened their doors to pets because of the disaster.
