Soft adventure, providing you with civilized hospitality while you experience Bella Coola's spectacular wildernesss - announcing new 2006 dates and rates and new wildlife viewing tours!

Bella Coola, BC (PRWEB) September 30, 2005 -- Historic Tweedsmuir Lodge is proud to announce the launch of their new Web site and 2006 early bird specials. Nestled within Tweedsmuir Park, the largest protected park in British Columbia the lodge is 70 km's by road from the Bella Coola Harbour, the lodge is remotely situated on 50 acres of wilderness land. Originally, the lodge was constructed in the early 1930's as a hunting and fishing destination. Then in 1952, it was rebuilt to accommodate larger groups. The lodge is has always been known for its warm, family style environment, international cuisine and world-class wine cellar.

The lodge has been a Grizzly bear wildlife sanctuary for many years with naturalist groups like Natural Habitat and Bear Trails making this their summer destination year after year.

Tweedsmuir Park and the Bella Coola valley are overflowing with wildlife and far removed from civilization. Where the spectacular Coast Range Mountains meet the lush valley floor and unspoiled rivers, the scenery here is unrivaled.

The Lodge has the most exquisite of views and sits near the base of an 8,000-foot rock peak. You are only steps from the Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, King, Pink and Silver Salmon-filled Atnarko and Bella Coola rivers, which are both world-renowned for fly-fishing. The deck of the lodge and all of the beautifully constructed chalets and cabins overlook a vast property where Grizzlies, Blacks and Cinnamon bears are often seen. Historically this area has been a bear sanctuary and several wildlife groups come specifically to view the bears. The valley is a rich and diverse mosaic of culture, which include the Nuxalk First Nations, descendents of the Norwegian settlers and various other blends.

Watch many species of birds, including Bald Eagles, the endangered Trumpeter Swans, Rufous Hummingbirds, Owls, Falcons, Hawks, and Kingfishers. There are over 400 species of birds in the valley. Sit by a roaring fire in one the lodge's two huge fireplaces, have a beverage on the deck, take in the breathtaking mountain views, read a book, or partake in the many eco-adventures this area has to offer. It is your getaway from the hustle and worries of the outside world. Come and see for yourself why Tweedsmuir Lodge and the Bella Coola Valley are one of the hottest new eco destinations catering to the pioneer tourist.

The early bird special entitles you to receive a 15% discount on your bookings. Booking dates applicable are between May 1st and June 15th, 2006. Three nights starting at CAD $355.65.
