Cheech Marin to Host Inaugural ARTV Awards California Painter Shannon Grissom Among the Nominees

Wednesday, ARTV announced Cheech Marin, comic and art collector, will host the ARTV AWARDS at MGM GRAND Oct 29th 2005. " Creator Audrey Roberts states, “I am extremely delighted to have Cheech as our host. He has made me laugh for so many years. I love his spirit and passion for art!"

Grissom, a nominee in the painting category, thinks Cheech will be an excellent host. “Yes, he’s an engaging entertainer and he’s also one of the top collectors of Chicano art.”

Grissom, a local artist, is also noted for hosting/producing the award winning television series Give Your Walls Some Soul. Her first children’s book, Monkey Made of Sockies is due out this fall.

The 2005 ARTV Awards is the first ever nationally visible red carpet event in America. The event will include live and multi media presentations and will be filmed for televised broadcast.
